Hello everyone.
I can see throughout this forum the great concern at the potential airgun ban in Scotland. Unfortunately many major political parties nowadays see the restriction of firearms as a high priority, while the remaining parties seemingly unwilling to put up a serious contest for the rights of every law abiding gun owner throughout the country. The Libertarian Party UK (for which I am the Scottish coordinator of) is a political party which holds the individuals right to firearms as a fundamental cornerstone of thier beliefs.
Although currently a minority, no other party in Scotland believes in the right to bear arm more the The Libertarian Party UK as can be clearly seen in our manifesto http://lpuk.org/page...w-and-order.php.
We recognise that simply owning a gun is not dangerous and that decent hardworking citizens should not have thier firearms forceably removed from them as per the SNP's desires.
I encourage all gun owners who do not currently feel represented by the major parties to have a look at out website at http://lpuk.org/ or please feel to contact me personally at duncan.soutar@lpuk.org.

Hello Duncan,
thank you for your post, I will have a look in detail, I can only speak for myself, but I have never trusted a single word any politician has said. Endlessly hacked off with failed promises.
It wastes my vote but, and again this is only my opinion, it does not seem to matter which party is in power they only seem interested in berating the opposition.
The quicker a politician in this country wakes up to the fact that the general public could not give a toss anymore, in evidence to this just look at the turnout at any election.
I do appreciate that you are making an effort but lets be honest after the election nothing will change, petrol will get dearer, fags and booze will go up and the tories will spend the next 4 years saying that they are having to clear up after bloody labour.
I wish I had a solution, but i dont.
I have never met you and you may be as honest as the day is long but I will reserve judgement until one single politician in the country proves me wrong.
Sorry for the rant.

Let me apologise if that came across as a sleazy sales pitch. It wasn't intended to be. Believe me when I say I am just as much of a hacked off member of the public as you. In my experience all government has proven to be good for is taxation and regulation of its people. I joined this party thinking it could be a force to change things for the better and was simply hoping to make people of a similar beliefs aware of us rather than having the defeatist attitude that "nothing will ever change".
I'd also like to add that right now Im sitting on my couch chuckling at the thought that I'm even close to a politician! I have never even been close to any of the major parliments in Britain and am yet to recieve a dime from my own party never mind the public!
