The UKARA option:
in 2006 Airsoft shooters were faced with the same choice as we have today, the VCR Act 2007 would outlaw their pastime.
In response AirSoft manufacturers created UKARA, United Kingdom Airsort Retailers association. This body created a registration scheme to register approved sites shops and users. This scheme was accepted by the UK Government and AirSoft was preserved for future generations. UKARA Site

I've been canvasing opinion from retailers and shooters as to whether a modified version of the UKARA Scheme run by an independent body (Not the Scottish Gov) would be supported and so far I have had a lot of positive feedback, have a look at the UKARA site and see what you think, a scheme like this could benefit everyone, it would put a control in place to ensure only registered users would have access to Airguns and Pellets and would go a ways to appease the politicians and after all we all want rid of the neds! All without forcing us down the license route and keeping persoanl details private.

If there is enough backing this may be an option to protect all class of users, Collectors, Plinkers vermin and club shooters alike but not force users into having to be a memeber of a club.

There are over 1000 users on AGS, so now I'm canvasing you, I'd really appreciate feedback on what you would be prepaired to do to protect our pastime.

I personaly don't think petitions work, and if they did how many people do you think would sign it?

The mother of Andrew Morton managed to get in excess 10,000 in support of a ban and that was just high street canvasing.
I believe the answer is in lobbying Westminster now in defence of powers being shifted to Scotland.

If powers are granted to Holyrood then i'd rather go with a counter proposal that stops short of licensing and doesn't involve millions of taxpayers money compensating the responsible users.

The problem is that they won't just get control of airguns, but all firearms!
And i can gaurantee that they will 'one by one' remove them all or put rediculous measures on there purchase, movement and use that it will drive them out of the country.

I think what the general public don't realise that the minority who are causing the incidents aren't being brought to justice with the measures that are available but fail to be implemented by the police or the judicial system.
