The Scottish Executive has clearly not thought this airgun ban through. It is merley a desperate attempt to claw back some support for a dying political party being the SNP. What is the point in banning airguns when there are millions of unregistered airguns in circulation? What I find even more stupid is that the ban will only be in scotland meaning you could nip down to Newcastle and buy one and bring it home. It is impossible to police and banning them isnt going to stop the bams and neds that misuse them from continuing to hurt people with them. Can we realy expect these numptys to actualy surrender their airguns to the police if the ban happened? I think not - they will just continue in their ways untill someone else gets killed and then when they get jailed, another numpty will take their place. Yet again it will be the law abiding community of airgunners who loose out...

Hi James, Welcome to AGS. Totally agree, but MP's don't think logically, It is all about trying to win votes. They know that banning won't work. Banning never works :ook at the handgun ban. The only people with handguns are the police and the criminals.
