If you actually read my postings you would realise that I don't have a problem with it, I was passing on comments from fellow members.

I'm a bit offended to be honest that you think I'm having double standards.

My advice, let everyone vote, then do what you feel you have to!

Lenny why do you want to ban Mosstrooper`s cool Glock avatar, yet you yourself (in the off-topic section) have started several threads about Snipers?I know that the term "Sniper" was originally applied in the early days of shooting,to exceptional hunters capable of shooting small fast moving game birds called Snipes:however nowadays a "Sniper" is concieved only as a man who hunts and kills other men,you even posted a you tube vid on Rob Furlong`s exceptional long range kill in Afghanistan.

Sounds like double standards to me!

I have no problem with any of the members avatars pics of guns why not?.I would understand if they depicted racism pornography or other deviance. The truth is nearly all air gunners have interests in other guns.Removing avatars because they depict guns is a step to far and persons voicing concerns over this well how sad are they? We all are air gunners and want air gunning seen in a responsible light but
come on are they serious :o

I absolutely agree. Remove all pictures and references to guns from the site. In fact - change the name of the site to 'Weddings R Us' and make all the avatars pink fluffy wedding favours and nice candles. We can then use a secret code so no one knows we have guns e.g. call a 'gun' a 'pen'; don't call it 'shooting' call it 'writing letters'. Use code names for vermin e.g. rabbits could be 'Aunty Doris'. Head shots could be 'graciously received' then the phrase: 'I wrote a letter to Aunty Doris using my AirArms pen and she received it graciously, so graciously we invited her to dinner'. Means head shot to a rabbit with my trusty AirArms and we ate it. Pigeons - 'Granny', crows 'the vicar' you get the idea.

Night vision could be 'writing letters by candlelight to my aunty Dorises'.

Then again we could just be a bit careful what we post and not be frightened that a bulletin board representing a large group of people enjoying a legitimate sport and who, perish the thought, have an interest in guns, just might be taken the wrong way by someone. You know - given the enjoyable banter an sense of fun on this site we just might do some good to the shooters image.

Leave the avatars as they are - it's still supposed to be a free country and they harm no one. Just be careful and think before you post.

Now what would HFT be? The wedding rehearsal?

I'd like to invite all of you with pens to the wedding rehearsal at JGARCS outside church this Sunday. We will be writing letters to the usual imitation relatives and the one with the most words at the end may receive the bouqet.

This is the last wedding rehearsal of the year and we will have a buffet.

Hi guys,

Just a point that has been brought to my attention by a few members now. In these increasingly anti gun times, it can be a bit off putting, maybe insensitive to have certain avatars. These include images which don't show AirGunners in a good positive light. It is not unimagineable that we have had antis signing up to see what we are about.

One of the main reasons for being here is to promote safe and responsible airgun ownership, so we should be careful with the image we portray.

So, can I ask any member who has an avatar that has animated firearms or the like to change it?

Thanks for this, we have to be very careful, shame I know, but it is the times we live in!

Lenny ,you first post wasn`t really giving any of us a choice ,regarding avatars, only later on did you put up the poll option (which as I write this is currently against changing things). Also you started this subject based on "comments" recieved ;not actual complaints.

I`ve already said I`m sorry if I caused offense, but reading your opening post made me think that this forum was simply and very quickly turning into a "BBS with kilts!"

Take care

Well, comments were sort of complaints, if you know what I mean...

You haven't caused offense, I was passing on what I'd been told...

We've had a poll, fair enough... lets just leave it for now. No point us falling out over it! :)
