Charity Shoot?

As well as raising funds for a needy charity, It would be an ideal opportunity to try and unite the clubs and get them talking again.
I've had a suggestion, maybe worthy of consideration. Why not an Eric Wallace Memorial Shoot? This could be an ideal opportunity for all of us who have been calling for SARPA's profile to be raised to actually work towards this. We get as many of us as we can at a fun/charity shoot. SARPA members and non members all together, all the clubs, we can start trying to work together?
I didn't know Eric, but I'm sure he would get a buzz out of watching ALL the clubs getting together to try and work together, and at the same time raising money for charity. In these days of negative publicity for our sport, this is the sort of positive story we need.
We would cater for all, FT/HFT/Hunters/Plinkers. An added bonus could be that we would plan it to not clash with upcoming shoots next year and hopefully we could use this as a catalyst to help all the clubs fit their shoots around each other??
Thoughts guys?

Fake people are like fools gold, it can be found everywhere yet it's worth nothing. Real people are like gold, they're very rare and worth a fortune.

Maybe we should be calling it what it is, i'd like to see the sport move forward and i think the only way to raise the profile is to host it whith WHO we are.
Keep it simple and people remember!
As i said before Lenny, there is my offer of a venue and theres Dave's (greenwing) offer to build the course still stands!
Of course no reason why all clubs couldn't take this opportunty to lend a hand and maybe make a day of the course building and build bridges and have a laugh????

SARPA used to have a charity shoot, but as i remember the charity then refused the money as we were a shooting organisation and at the time nobody wanted anything to do with us,cant mind name of charity, but may be worth checking which charity would accept our gift.
am sure it was after the glasgow affair, also SARPA ran the ERIC WALLACE BIG 60 cup but i think that was dropped. pehaps SARPA could verify this for you.

any shoot that can raise our profile would be good

As an aside, my employer, Evening Times supports Marie Curie in the Big Build Campaign, ok it's a Glasgow specific hospice they are raising funds for, but I know the PR people who deal with it, and could pressurise my editor to hopefully do an article on us? Can't guarantee it as most editors are idiots who may panic with the mention of guns... but I'll definetly push him...

We've also still to decide roughly when we plan to have this, remember we're coming into the crappy winter weather. I think you would get more people going if it's a nice day than if it's pouring down.
I know it's a fair way off but I would suggest early next year, just before the competition season starts.
Just my thoughts, I'm happy to go along with whatever's organised
