Count me in, all the mentioned charities are ok with me.
Its Scottish Poppy day coming up soon for all fallen Scottish service personnel.
I saw "Shoot for heroes" in one of the mag's sounded like a good idea.
Thing with charity events is they are a great press opportunity especially if you get it right.
Just a thought, how about involving all the clubs on the same day, make it open to all and get the public in, then to top it all have a sponsored shoot with a bus load of shooters hitting shooting every HFT target from the borders to John o'groats (Well probably Aberdeen).
It big, Its public and could bring a whole bunch of (Good) press.
We could involve the Air / Army / Navy cadets and open up a bunch of lines of communication all in one!
This might be a bit ambitious but man it would be neat, might even boost our membership.

Can i suggest that maybe we have a charity shoot first, which involves all the clubs!
Then have an open day in which all monies raised goes to charities, but we have it then http://www.nationalshootingweek.co.uk/
providing it's being held as an annual thing...
just a thought

instead of having one event at one location why not have 4 or 5 events over a two week period ?
this would alow shift workers and those who dont have transport a chance to attend
i do realise this will take a massive amount of organisation but will permit more people to take part .
over to the body of the kirk for opinions

Fake people are like fools gold, it can be found everywhere yet it's worth nothing. Real people are like gold, they're very rare and worth a fortune.

Remember we still have problems getting people to normal club shoots.
If we have too many events on at the same time we run the risk of only getting half a dozen at each shoot. One, well publicised event would have more of an impact, in my opinion.
There has been a lot of good ideas on here but we need to keep it simple for our first shoot then build on that.
I think we should start small but with an aim to make it a regular event with each one bigger/better than the last. walk before you run, as they say.

Or each club hosts a charity shoot throughout the year, with the emphasis on each club to support the rest!
This could possibly help to break down barriers and get clubs mingling and interacting again......just a thought!

I like that idea, could work well and build as the year goes on, then one final big shoot at the end of the year?
